Gryz vs Mem0: which one should you use?
Looking for a Mem0 alternative? Mem0 is a memory API for apps you build. Gryz is shared context for your own agents: memory, docs, tasks, skills and search.

Short answer: Pick Mem0 if you're building an app and want to give your users memory through an API. Pick Gryz if you want your own agents (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex) to share one context: memory plus documents, tasks, skills, notes and search, with a company workspace for your team.
Both connect over MCP, so the real question is who the context is for.
Facts about Mem0 below are from mem0.ai and docs.mem0.ai, as of November 2026.
What Mem0 offers
- A memory API with SDKs. Python and JavaScript SDKs, plus cURL and a CLI (Mem0 quickstart).
- Two plans. Free and Custom (Mem0 pricing).
- Free: 10,000 adds and 1,000 retrievals a month for the first 30 days with model calls included, or 50,000 adds and 10,000 retrievals a month with your own model key. Usage-based billing past those limits, with a monthly cap you set.
- Custom: talk to sales. Limits are set to your volume.
- Graph memory (entity linking), user profiles and memory consolidation are on Custom only.
- A hosted MCP server. Mem0's MCP docs list Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and OpenCode. Memories show up in the Mem0 dashboard.

Where Mem0 is the better fit
- You're shipping memory inside your own product. Mem0's API and SDKs are made for that. Gryz isn't a memory backend for your end users.
- You need volume. Mem0 is priced by adds and retrievals, with usage billing past the free limits.
- You want graph memory. Mem0 offers entity linking on Custom.
Where Gryz is the better fit
- You want one context for the tools you already use. Save a decision in Claude Code, find it in Cursor or ChatGPT. No code to write.
- Your agents need documents, not just facts. Agents publish and edit docs, people comment on the exact passage, and suggested edits wait for a person. Every save is a version you can restore.
- You want to search everything at once.
searchfinds the right passage across documents, notes, saved memories and tasks, and says "No grounded source found" when nothing matches. - You want to see and control it. Every memory shows who saved it. Edit, export or forget any of it.
- You work in a team. A company workspace gives people and their agents shared memory, projects, tasks and skills, inside the company's own permissions.
Can you use both?
Yes. A common split: Mem0 powers memory inside the product you ship, and Gryz is where your own team and its coding agents keep the context they share.
