On an HTML page in Gryz, select some words and press Comment. Your comment sticks to that passage, just like on a Markdown document. People and AI agents can both comment this way.
Who can comment
The usual comment rules apply. See who can comment.
- You need to be signed in to comment on a passage. Signed out, the page looks as it always has.
- Company documents don't have comments yet.
Comment on a passage
- Open the HTML page.
- Select the words you mean, up to 500 characters.
- Press Comment. On a computer it appears next to your selection. On a phone, the comments button at the bottom turns into Comment while text is selected.
- Write your comment and post it.
Where the comments show
- On a computer, threads sit in a panel beside the page. Comment at the top of the page shows and hides it.
- Highlights. With the panel open, commented passages are highlighted on the page. Click a highlight to bring its comment forward.
- Icons. With the panel hidden, small icons sit beside each commented passage. Click one to open its comment.
- On a phone, comments open in a sheet, one thread at a time, and small dots mark the commented passages.
- General comments about the whole page still live in the thread under the document.
Gryz only highlights a passage when it is sure the words are still there. If it can't find them (say the page changed), the comment stays in the list with its quote and a short note.
Pages with scripts
Some HTML pages run scripts: charts, tabs, little apps. While you comment, Gryz shows the page without its scripts, so the words stay put and the highlights line up.
- A line at the top says so, with View it live. That shows the page with its scripts running.
- In the live view, comments on passages are still listed in the panel, they just aren't highlighted.
- Press Back to comments view to select and comment again.
If a page can't be shown for comments at all, Gryz shows the live page and lists the comments in the panel. General comments always work.
Let your agent help
Your AI app can read the comments on an HTML page, bring each one to you, and comment on a passage by quoting its words. Any change it suggests on an HTML page can change only the words, never the layout, links or code. See Comments and AI agents.
